I first ran across Granny's list many years ago. It is a list of research and other information related to Medical Marijuana. I found it on the internet, but then a couple weeks later the site was down and gone. Thankfully she kept it up and kept moving forward elsewhere. Her list has grown into a size most places won't post. I'll try to keep it up here.
Only as recently as 1992 did medical researchers discover this previously unknown, body-wide neurocellular receptor system that controls or regulates almost every function in the body, by apparently bringing the mind and body back to a state of homeostasis after being stressed by the environment. This system is the "wisdom of the body" that we all experience as the body "just knowing how to fix itself" after illness. This system is the very definition of wellness!
The endocannabinoid system refers to a group of neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors that are involved in a variety of physiological processes including appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory; it mediates the psychoactive effects of cannabis and, broadly speaking, includes:
MOLALLA, Ore. -- West Coast Leaf - winter edition, just published the results of a two-year clinical trial about cannabis for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) comparing about 40 victims receiving cannabis with about 40 who did not. This work was done at Bat-Yam in Israel and reported at the Cannabinoid Conference 2011 in Bonn, Germany.
NORML -- Preclinical data recently published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation demonstrating that cannabinoids may spur brain cell growth has reignited the international debate regarding the impact of marijuana on the brain.
However, unlike previous pseudo-scientific campaigns that attempted to link pot smoking with a litany of cognitive abnormalities, modern research suggests what many cannabis enthusiasts have speculated all along: ganja is good for you.
Few natural food sources have withered as much confusion, controversy and misinformation (and lack of information) as hemp – which is unfortunate, and even ironic, given that it is one of the world’s most perfect foods. Actually, it goes far beyond food, as this super-plant has also been used for centuries as a wonderful source of fibers for clothing and accessories, soaps and oils, and much more. It's even rumored to be the world's "oldest food" consumed by modern man.
Here's the rundown on last remaining 4 medical marijuana bills being considered by the Michigan Senate. The senate had a marathon session Thursday night Dec 13, 2012 until 5am. The lame duck session worked tirelessly to screw us as much as possible without thorough forethought.
New York (PRWEB) April 06, 2012 -- In a recent study, 4AutoinsuranceQuote[dot]org, a national quote provider for online car insurance quotes, cites a strong correlation between traffic-related accidents and marijuana use. The study, which looks at statistics regarding accidents, traffic violations, and insurance prices, seeks to dispel the thought that “driving while stoned” is dangerous.
Washington, DC -- The 2011-2012 session of Congress marks a new era in marijuana policy at the federal level. For the first time ever, a bill to end federal marijuana prohibition has been introduced! This is just one of a number of marijuana-related bills pending in the 112th Congress. Keep reading to see how you can take action to show your representatives in Congress you support marijuana policy reform.
Washington, DC -- The U.S. Supreme Court refused to review a landmark decision in which California state courts found that its medical marijuana law was not preempted by federal law. The state appellate court decision from November 28, 2007, ruled that "it is not the job of the local police to enforce the federal drug laws." The case, involving Felix Kha, a medical marijuana patient from Garden Grove, was the result of a wrongful seizure of medical marijuana by local police in June 2005.
Washington, DC -- So, why is this important? Here is a legal document, in the public domain, which flies in the face of the US Government's stated position with regard to the classification of cannabis as a Schedule I substance having no "currently accepted medical use". Believe me, citing this patent stops the "medical marijuana is a myth" advocates dead in their tracks. They simply cannot argue with it.
The US Constitutional Commerce Cause and Necessary and Proper Clause are currently being abused by federal agents and the flawed claims of some. But there is light. At least one US Justice sees the injustice with a now majority of justices throughout the land. Justice Thomas' opinion puts proper perspective on the Medical Marihuana issue as it relates to the Federal supremacy.
DUID Legislation: What It Means, Who's Behind It, and Strategies to Prevent It
The Michigan Supreme Court Tuesday ruled that it is not illegal to drive while having marijuana metabolites in the body, reversing a 2006 decision by a more conservative version of the court. Marijuana metabolites are not a controlled substance under state law, and their mere presence thus cannot be the basis of a conviction under the state's drugged driving law, the court held.
